At a regular scheduled meeting of American Legion Post 167, Morris Run, PA members approved funding scholarships for the 2014-2015 school year totaling $50,000.
Since North Penn has closed and students moved to Liberty and Mansfield Schools they will receive $15,000 each and Canton and Troy $10,000 each. The money is to be divided into individual scholarships which should include both four year colleges and two year technical or trade schools. The selection of the students is left up to the individual schools. The Legion only requires that it be based on merit, need, and a display of patriotism. They also require that they be notified as to who received the scholarships and what their future plans are. Talisman Energy has had a long lasting run of support with the Canton FFA.
